Dear Elsie Jane,

I openly admit that I have no idea what to do with toddlers. You are hard-headed, emotional, persistent, stubborn, passionate, hilarous, sensitive, talkative, smiley, mischievous, and sometimes just downright out of control. Man alive, I love you! I'm going to come back to that word: passionate. You love your food; you love your time playing in the water (bath, sink, rain, whatever); you love your time playing with your baby dolls. You do not like the word "no," but thankfully are still relatively, relatively, easily distracted from whatever is upsetting to you.

I honestly wonder what goes on in your little brain. Do you really understand humor? When you came in with the flower pot on your head, saying, "Hat. Hat. Hat," did you find that funny? I did. You crack me up.

I love, love, love you, even when you're screaming and trying to bite, hit, and squirm out of my arms.
Mama
